Host Plettenberg Movement at Your Studio,

Benefits of Hosting

Hosting a course at your facility is a convenient way of providing excellent training for you and your staff. It can reduce travel expenses, and allows your teachers to continue to work with clients during the training, minimizing the loss of income your studio might experience from absent teachers. It is also exciting to support continuing education and foster personal connections within the GYROTONIC® community.

Responsibilities of the Host Studio

The host studio is responsible for Sebastian’s travel and lodging expenses during the training. This includes reimbursement for air, bus, or train travel to and from the host studio. Sebastian is happy to stay in a private residence, provided privacy can be assured.

The host studio is also responsible for providing the proper space and equipment to teach the course. The host studio must have one professional Pulley-Tower Combination Unit or Cobra for each three participants in a Gyrotonic course; one piece of Specialized Equipment for each four participants in a Specialized Equipment training; and one mat and one stool for each participant in a GYROKINESIS® course.

The host studio is responsible for filling all scheduled trainings, though they will be advertised on the GYROTONIC® Manhattan website as well as in GYROTONIC® Manhattan newsletters. Sebastian requires a minimum of six participants for a Gyrotonic course, and a minimum of ten students in a Gyrokinesis training. Specialized Equipment courses may only be conducted with a maximum of four students per machine. Therefore, in order to make the training financially viable, these courses can only be scheduled (a) if the host studio has a minimum of two pieces of the required equipment; and/or (b) the training immediately precedes or follows another economically feasible course.

The host studio is also responsible for securing the materials required for the course from Gyrotonic headquarters, as well as ensuring that all participants meet the pre-requisites of the training. If the course is not filled one month prior to the start date, it may be cancelled or rescheduled for another date when the course can be filled. All registered participants will be notified by the host studio, as well as Plettenberg Movement, that the course may be cancelled, and all deposits refunded.

Recovering the Costs Associated with Hosting a Course

The host studio is not charged any fees for the course, but may charge the participants in the course a fee to cover its expenses. Usually, host studios charge each participant an extra $200-$500 for the Gyrotonic course, and an extra $100-$200 for a Gyrokinesis course. Host studios may determine the amount charged to each participant, asking more or less depending on the studio’s needs and costs. Host studios are requested to notify Sebastian of the studio fee, so that he can pass the information along to prospective students.

Course Fees Paid by the Participants

All educational course fees are set by Gyrotonic International Headquarters. Please visit www.Gyrotonic.com for the current rate schedule.
