Training Programs
Plettenberg
Movement provides unique and experienced instruction in all
the certificate courses offered through the GYROTONIC
EXPANSION SYSTEM®, including the GYROTONIC®
foundation course, the GYROKINESIS® foundation
course, the GYROTONER™,
the JUMPING-STRETCHING
BOARD, and the LADDER.
Sebastian will guide you through the official GYROTONIC®
curriculum content of each of these courses, infusing your
body with a dynamic understanding of the movements, and the
system of GYROTONIC®
as devised by its creator, Juliu Horvath. Sebastian offers
clear and insightful instruction, informed by years of dance,
GYROTONIC®
teacher training, and his own studies with Juliu Horvath.
Continuing education workshops are also provided through Plettenberg
Movement, and are arranged with the host facility

Workshop
Costs:

Foundation Course: $1500. Studio rental
fee of $200-$500 is determined by the host facility. Contact

Certification
Process:
Taking
a one or two week course from Plettenberg Movement is just
one part of the process in becoming a certified instructor.
Everyone must go through four steps to become a well-educated
instructor in the GYROTONIC
EXPANSION SYSTEM®, and we have summarized
them below. For the specific and official requirements to
become a certified instructor, please visit www.gyrotonic.com
- Pre-training.
This entails taking a course, or the required number of
pre-training hours, from a certified pre-trainer BEFORE
one enrolls in a GYROTONIC®
foundation course or GYROKINESIS®
course. Plettenberg Movement has certified pre-trainers
that can provide individuals and groups the pre-training
required.

Completing the Teacher Training course. This refers to
the GYROTONIC®
foundation course and the GYROKINESIS®
course also, to name just two.

Apprenticing. This entails teaching and logging a minimum
number of hours during a set time period. The GYROTONIC®
foundation course requires a specified number of review
hours with a Master Trainer.

Final Certifiaction. This requires the completion of a
certification workshop held by Juliu Horvath, the scheduling
of which can be found on the GYROTONIC®
website.
Prerequisites:
The
prerequisites for both GYROTONIC®
and GYROKIENSIS®
programs can be satisfied with a signed letter from a certified
pre-trainer stating you have successfully fulfilled the
pre-training requirements as they are listed on the Gyrotonic
website.

Course
Cancellations/Changes:
If you have to cancel your attendance in a workshop, we
will refund a portion of your deposit according to the following
schedule: 100% refund for 30 days notice; 50% refund for
one week notice; no refund for less than one week notice.
If you withdraw during a course, you will not receive any
refund, however you will have one year to apply the fee
to another workshop.Occasionally,
a course will have to be cancelled or rescheduled. If this
happens, you will be notified within a month of the course,
and your deposit will be returned. Furthermore, circumstances
beyond our control may require schedule changes. Please
call to confirm the time and place of a course before you
book airline tickets and hotel reservations.
